A Shadow in Eternity: A review

Two young readers of A Shadow in Eternity liked it enough to write the following review. Many thanks to Pakhi and Gulshan. The second book, The Key of Chaos is a couple of months from publication. I hope they like it as much!

Here is what they have to say:

A Shadow in Eternity is definitely a fantastic book about a “normal” girl who finds out that she is not quite as normal as she thinks.

Life is regular and boring for Maya Subramaniam until she is pulled into a world of magic and sweetberry juice. Maya can’t keep her mind off Eternity. With her buddy, Lev Karenin, and her Watcher, Noah Jarryd, at her side, Maya learns the truth about herself. As you know truths are always bitter, and it proves to be no different for Maya and her Watcher.

Payal Dhar’s writing is very intense and absorbing—the moment you start, you can’t stop. Her writing consists of strong emotions, like, when Maya is angry, you can almost feel it like you were her! While reading you can see the whole thing happening in front of you as if you were actually present.

This is the first novel of hers that we have come across and we both loved it; a favourite!! So get yourself a copy because this is a book which could be read over and over again.

  1. I liked it lots! Will the sequel be illustrated? I missed that in the first one… but I guess it isn’t all that important unless you really love pictures.

  2. Awww…that was sweet of them! *nod* (and true, too 😉 )

  3. I loved the first book a lot too! I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

    That was a great review!

  4. Well deserved praise, methinks. Wait until they read book 2 – knocks the socks off book one, in mine humble opinion.
