Christmas Stories

Christmas StoriesChristmas is only two months away, and what better way to get in the mood than with a collection of Christmas-themed stories? Scholastic India’s Christmas Stories volume comprises just that. It has eight stories, including one by me, called “The Santa Question”, and is about an unusual Santa who’s a little rude, lactose intolerant and rides a handbike… For any more, you’ll just have to read it.

This is part of the festivals series — other anthologies include Eid Stories and Diwali Stories

Here’s the publisher’s description:

A lactose intolerant Santa with bad table manners, wearing a long red dress with fluffy white cuffs and collar, reveals some classified secrets. A child of mixed parentage celebrates Christmas in his mother’s hometown in Kerala and thinks many new thoughts. In a magical town, every day is Christmas Eve, which is not as much fun as you might expect. These and the five other Christmas stories in this collection celebrate the true spirit of this joyous festival in diverse ways that are sometimes touching and beautiful, sometimes hilarious and amusing. Through these stories that are based in different parts of India and even outside the country, you will discover surprising new facts and traditions associated with this favourite festival.
