‘Twas with a heavy heart that I decided to bid goodbye to MacBeth, my erstwhile laptop. Meanwhile, Stephen has joined the family, my new MacBook Pro. It’s a 13.3-inch model, with 4 GB of RAM, 320 GB storage and an Intel i5 processor. To look at it’s more or less identical to MacBeth, only shinier. And faster. I intend to play lots of games on it. 🙂
So, why the name Stephen? Well, the friend I went computer shopping with (she bought a neat little Sony Vaio netbook) suggested I call him (yes, Stephen is a boy computer) Steve — no marks for guessing why — which led me to Stephen. I find it quite fitting because not only is it a name I like and the name of one of my sports heroes, but I also like the irony in the fact that my computer is named after the most techno-phobic character in the Shadow in Eternity series, one who still thinks a desktop is where you put down your cup of tea.
MacBeth — for those of you who might be concerned — has a loving new owner.
